Upcoming Classes

Introducing palette knife painting with florals and landscapes.

(Demonstrations will be in oils but also open to those who prefer acrylic)

Thursday Mornings 9.30am - 12 noon with Scarsdale Adult School

The Girl Scout House, 37 Wayside Lane, Scarsdale,

Starting April 11th 2024, running for 6 weeks.

( 2 skip weeks: April 25th and May 2nd)

In this course we will introduce how to incorporate using a palette knife into our painting.

Students will learn to paint their entire painting with a palette knife and later on, decide when to use it to add texture or lines, in combination with brushwork.

We will use focussed-in florals as our subject matter and introduce landscape as well.

This course is designed for oil paint but also lends itself to acrylic paint if preferred, and is open to all ability levels.

Intermediate classes in oil paint

Thursday Mornings 9.30am - 12 noon with Scarsdale Adult School

The Girl Scout House, 37 Wayside Lane, Scarsdale,

Starting February 1st 2024, running for 8 weeks.

(Skip week February 22nd)

This course is best suited for those with a little previous knowledge of oil painting and would like to improve. It is an extension from my beginners class though anyone is welcome to join.

In this course we will use small florals and glass vessels as our subject matter. We use the interplay of light to create vibrant and beautiful still life paintings.

We will look more in depth at practicing brush strokes and simplifying shapes.

We will paint both from life and from photos.
